Two cool articles for today!

1. Archaeologists have discovered a 4,000 year old brain in Turkey.  A fire and fortuitous soil chemistry drove out the moisture and then saponified the brain, so that the shape of the soft tissues are preserved.  Researchers think they might be able to scan it and look for signs of pathology.  Read more here.

2. Indiana University (Hey sister!  Go see it!) is displaying medical artwork as part of an exhibition called “Visualizing Disease.”  Included are some beautiful early 19th century French drawings of skin disease.  Not only are the diseases finely illustrated, clothing is reproduced also in detail.  Read more here.
